DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION

"If we don't figure out a way to create equity, real equity, of opportunity and access, to good schools, housing, health care, and decent paying jobs, we're not going to survive as a productive and healthy society."
—Tim Wise

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is a term used to describe policies and programs that promote the representation and participation of different groups of individuals, including people of different ages, races and ethnicities, abilities and disabilities, genders, religions, cultures and sexual orientations.
At CCCA, we believe that the work to preserve natural habitats and healthy natural systems in our county is an effort that is benefitted by the representation and participation of all segments of our community, embracing the rich diversity of talent, perspectives, experiences, and needs found throughout our county. Diversity includes people of different ages, races and ethnicities, abilities and disabilities, genders, religions, cultures, and sexual orientations. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in the effort to
preserve land, water, and wildlife in Comal County.

Conservation, Environment, and the Outdoors for All Texans Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Resources

Texan by Nature exists to advance conservation. We do this by bringing conservation and business together. We believe in a collaborative model that pushes impact boundaries for Texas’ diverse natural resources, our diverse communities, and the state’s economic growth. We recognize that diversity can take many forms such as ethnic, geographic, socioeconomic, sexual orientation, and much more. The below resources were aggregated as a starting point to provide our over 100+ Conservation Partners with information on ethnic diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as it relates to conservation, the environment, and the outdoors. Texan by Nature is also on
a DEI journey. We’re working to make conservation more inclusive and equitable by addressing the gaps headon, identifying viable solutions, and providing resources to our teams and partners. Like us, this document is a work in process and we will continue to update it over time to include information, insights and resources on the full spectrum of diversity. We hope these resources will spark new ideas, partnerships, and collaboration that will yield great results. We will continue to work to help our Texas conservation community become more representative of ALL the Texans that call the wonderful Lone Star state home.
